Sired by MSU 2124, out of a daughter of the Pearson ram. Wade Kopren and Dave Pearson used this ram last year, we have some ewes bred for fall `18 and will use him for `19 lambs.
"Winter" is sired by "Game of Thrones" (Benda) out of a "Captain Jack" daughter. He was Junior Champion and Reserve Overall Bred & Owned ram at the 2015 UJSSA show. He went on to be named Champion at the 2015 MN Junior Suffolk Show (owned jointly with Quam Suffolks). He was 2nd February ram at the NAILE!
"Badger" stamps his offspring with a long, level hip and trademark long ears. For those reasons (and because he is Heidi's favorite), we will be retaining "Badger" for a 3rd breeding season. We think the "Badger" and MSU 2124 lines will cross well on each other.
"PokeRR Face" is one of two new Studs for 2014 lamb crop. Purchased from Clift Livestock (jointly with John Scott). This early February buck lamb is a son of Lansing "Aces Up" and on the dam side does back to "Slapjack" "Blackjack" and "LeaRRjet". Big-scaled and level-docked, should work well on our "Captain Jack" daughters. (thanks to John Phillips for purchasing "PokeRR Face")
Thanks to Bunker Hill Suffolks for the opportunity to use this proven NSIP stud in our program (currently ranks 3rd among proven sires in carcass plus index at 158)
"Blue Beard" (Captain Jack x Gunfire) was 3rd Bred & Owned yearling ram at the `14 UJSSA national junior Suffolk show. We have ewes bred to him for fall lambing, and will use him for clean-up.
Excited to add "Game of Thrones"- our new Benda ram. He was my pick of the "King's Ransom" sons. Straight & square on his feet and legs, and a wide level hip. "King's Ransom" was undefeated as a lamb. He and his sire, "Karma", have produced many champions for Benda Suffolks. Good-footed, good bone and a thick, level top. I expect him to work well on our "Captain Jack" and "HeadlineRR" daughters. (sold to John Scott)
Sired by Luxford "Yukon Jack" - Pedigree includes "Cobra", "Great Divide" and more!
at 2 yrs old - slick shorn - 42+" x 43"
as a yearling
Jr Champion Ram - Iowa State Fair *** Champion Ram MN State Fair
Watch for his lambs in 2011.
His first lambs were born on 2/11 and if they are any indication of how he will sire, we're going to be very pleased with this lamb crop.
